Etiquette Tips
For more information on what is expected, please see our “When Visiting the Cemetery” page.
WHAT TO SAY
If attending a burial, a simple “I’m sorry for your loss” or “I’ll be praying for them and you” can go a long way. If visiting, then consider saying the Eternal Rest Prayer for those interred at the cemetery.
SILENCE YOUR PHONE
It’s always respectful to silence your cell phone, especially during a burial service.
FOLLOW THE RULES
Be sure to review the expectations and regulations for visiting the cemetery.
RESPECT THE GRAVE
Please do not disturb other memorials or monuments as they can become damaged. Never remove any tributes or flowers from another person’s headstone.
RESPECT THE GROUNDS
Be sure to pick up all your trash and never touch or remove anything that is other people or cemetery property.
RESPECT SERVICES
If a burial service is occurring please respect the family and the burial team. We understand some burials occur very close to other gravesites, but please give the burial precedence. You will be able to visit with your loved one very soon after.
