Choosing a Catholic Cemetery
“We do not want you to be unaware, brothers, about those who have fallen asleep, so that you may not grieve like the rest, who have no hope.”
– 1 Thessalonians 4:13

Why Choose a Catholic Cemetery?

What Does the Church Say?
Catholics are strongly encouraged to be buried or entombed in a Catholic Cemetery. A Catholic cemetery is a sacred place of honor and respect for those who have died. It is blessed ground, fitting for someone whose body was a temple of the Holy Spirit on earth and now awaits the resurrection from the dead.
To have a representative of the Church present at this final moment is a great source of consolation to those who will now have to continue their journey in life without their loved one. While a priest may be unable to preside at the Committal Service, a deacon or a trained bereavement minister may represent the Church at this final moment.

Why Choose Us?
The Diocese of Tucson Catholic Cemeteries have been an integral part of the Catholic community of Tucson for over 100 years. As the only Catholic cemeteries in Tucson, our consecrated grounds have been the final resting place for families for generations. From annual ceremonies, monthly Mass of Remembrance, and daily prayers, those interred within our care are constantly being honored and remembered. Choosing to be buried in a Catholic cemetery is the final expression of our faith as Catholics.
We are proud to serve the families that come to us and will continue to do so for generations to come.
